Motor Trader is honoured to be the Media Partner for KLIMS’13

25 September 2013, Kuala Lumpur – The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), organizer of the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2013 (KLIMS13), launched an extensive advertising and promotion campaign for KLIMS13, in a ceremony officiated by YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.

The most intensively anticipated triennial motor show is trailblazing to its opening with an advertising and promotion campaign valued at RM7 million worth of market exposure locally and overseas. The organizer is expecting 330,000 visitors over the 10 days of motoring extravaganza.

Datuk Aishah Ahmad, President of MAA said “KLIMS is back again this year to fuel the automotive industry as well as Malaysia’s calendar of tourism events. To place KLIMS13 in the limelight of events to visit in Malaysia, it is necessary that we initiate a resounding advertising and promotion campaign that is driven to generate hype and reach.”

The multimillion campaign for KLIMS13 encompasses TV, radio, print, digital, outdoor and social media medium. Leading media have been enlisted to support KLIMS13 advertising and promotion campaign as Official Media Partners. The media partners include ASTRO, Berita Harian, EVO, Motor Trader, Nanyang Siang Pau, Paultan.org, The Star and Top Gear. The advertising and promotion campaign will also be carried out with other major newspapers, magazines, broadcast channels and web media in the country and regionally.

KLIMS13 partners are underway to boost promotion mileage. KLIMS13 Official Financial partner, Maybank will be promoting the motor show via ATM screens and marketing mailers to their customers. The Official Airline of KLIMS13, AirAsia will be rolling out KLIMS13 low fare promotion and electronic mailers to their subscribers in the region. KLIMS13 will also be promoted via Facebook and Twitter with contests in the pipeline to win KLIMS13 tickets.

Driving the extra miles to promote KLIMS13, MAA has announced three cars as grand prizes for visitors. The cars sponsored by the exhibitors are the Toyota Prius Luxury 1.8L and the Honda CR-Z. Volkswagen is sponsoring the Beetle 2.0L TSI for Maybank customers visiting KLIMS13.

MAA has maintained the entrance ticket prices for KLIMS13 as per previous editions of KLIMS. Entrance fares will be RM15 for adults on weekdays and RM20 on weekends; RM5 for children 12 years and below on weekdays and weekends. There is also a family package of RM30 on weekdays and RM40 on weekends for families with up to five children.

KLIMS13, themed “Efficiency in Motion”, is billed as the largest automotive industry event in Malaysia. The motor show is set to showcase a range of motoring machines from cars, bikes to commercial vehicles. There will also be concept cars, performance cars and new launches.

KLIMS13 will be held from 15 to 24 November 2013 at the Putra World Trade Centre. The motor show is organized by the Malaysian Automotive Association and managed by Interexpo (M) Sdn Bhd.

About Malaysian Automotive Association

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) was established in November 1960. The aim of MAA is to support the development and protect the interest of motor traders in Malaysia, as well as to make representation to the various Government bodies on important issues pertaining to the automotive industry.

Besides serving as a liaison with the Government agencies, MAA also communicates industry positions and objectives to the media frequently. To-date, MAA has 232 members, comprising of 48 full members who are franchise holders and assemblers, 4 associate members nominated by franchise holders and 180 subscriber members from various institutions and associations (banks, stock brokers, etc) who have an interest in the local automotive industry.
